I believe that therapy is -at its core- a human relationship and that counselling requires a foundation of trust to collaboratively build a safe and connected therapeutic space.
My approach to care is person-centered, strengths-based, emotion-focused, and compassion-anchored. I am keen to learn about clients and their narratives, including the factors and dynamics that shape their understanding of who they are as well as their way of being in the world (e.g., key lived experiences, strengths and growth edges, values, life roles/contexts, relationships, and systems).
I draw from and integrate a range of theories, therapies (including evidence-based therapies), frameworks, and concepts to tailor treatment to clients. Counselling sessions are focused upon addressing clients’ needs/concerns and making progress toward key treatment goals.
When the therapy process is productive, it can help in supporting clients’ experiences of meaningful changes in psychological/emotional function as well as improved overall health/wellness- at the interplay between the mind, body, and heart.
